We are once again fundraising to build up our supply of new tennis shoes so we will be ready to… distribute after Christmas. We are asking for donations of shoes or monetary gifts. If you are donating new tennis shoes we ask that they are sizes 10 thru 5 for girls and boys. They can be dropped off at our home, 2404 E Stanton Dr. Sioux Falls SD 57103, or I will come to your home and pick the shoes up. You also can click on the donate now button which will take you directly to Ashley’s Kicks website where you can donate through pay pal. Please keep in mind that whatever you are able to donate adds up and one hundred percent of the money raised goes directly to buy new tennis shoes for students in our local elementary schools.
For those of you who do not know, we started Ashley’s Kicks for Kids, a non profit organization, in memory of our daughter Ashley Ann Engel who was killed in a boating accident at the age of 20 on July 18th, 2011. Ashley loved shoes and also loved tutoring for students in high school who were new in the country and coming from our local immersion centers in Sioux Falls. So we put the two together and came up with Ashley’s Kicks For Kids.
This year will be our sixth year of doing Ashley’s Kicks For Kids. In the last 5 years we have been able to give every student, in grades K thru 5th grade, at Jane Adams Immersion Center, a new pair of tennis shoes. In the last three years we have been able to give a large amount of shoes to Cleveland Elementary, Anne Sullivan Elementary, and Hayward Elementary. Our hopes for Ashley’s Kicks For Kids is to continue to grow and to be able to reach more children in need and give them a new pair of tennis shoes. Right now we are giving to local schools but are hopes are to continue to grow and be able to help more children in need locally in Sioux Falls and beyond.
There is so much joy in giving to children in need and we hope you too will feel motivated in giving to Ashley’s Kicks for Kids and receive the joy and happiness in giving to others in need. We are now recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to Ashley’s Kicks for Kids are now deductible under section 170 of the code. One hundred percent of the money donated and shoes given go to Ashley’s Kicks for Kids goes directly to children in need.
God’s Blessings and Merry Christmas,
